My husband is getting very carried with these challenges. He hasn’t missed a parkrun this year and it’s taking over his life 🤪 I used to parkrun, but with a small baby in tow I’m currently a trailing parkrun spouse (is that a thing?). Letting him have this year, but when I get back into it I’m getting some PBs and he’s taking the pushchair and the toddler! I showed him this article and now he’s getting ideas about going to Stafford.
Love love love this! Have recently become quite evangelical about parkrun, despite only having done a measly 20 (have childrens’ football matches pretty much every Sat morning). I have started volunteering as well, especially at the junior ones, as they don’t interfere with actually running them, and they are the absolute best. Marshalling in particular consists of 30 mins of high fiving adorable children and having people thank you non stop and it’s so utterly wholesome and heartwarming, and a million times easier and quicker than most volunteering, but you still get to feel all smug. Truly parkrun can save the world.
Beautiful writing (AS ALWAYS) -- Although I am very jealous that there are no parkruns featuring my name. I will just have to stick to re-watching the film version of Stardust.
I love how niche some of these challenges are. In fact my cousin above has invented a David Bowie challenge to attend 5 parkruns starting with Ch, as in ch-ch-ch-ch-changes!
"I wish I was a little bit taller" 😂 😂
What if Donald Trump went to Parkrun hahaha 🤣🤣 (he’d probably ruin it frankly!). Brilliant post and has spurred me on to go to Parkrun this morning!!
Hurrah! Hope Trump wasn’t there!

Haha, I’m sure the legendary Travelodge has family rooms!

Ahhhh yes, I love volunteering at juniors too. Recommend leading the warmup if you’ve never tried it! The cutest.
That sounds so adorable!

And possibly no pencil cases for you either (unless custom made on Etsy). Thoughts and prayers.
Literally LOLd at "WHAT IF DONALD TRUMP WENT TO PARKRUN?" 😂😂
It’s possible I got a bit carried away.
Although to be fair my friend has seen Ed Miliband at Finsbury Park parkrun a few times but perhaps it’s not *quite* the same.
No way! That makes me like him more, knowing he's a runner!
Strange gait but quite fast apparently!
We had a tourist at our local parkrun who was completing a challenge to run every parkrun which took place at current or former racecourses 😊
